On the 2nd release from SF's Joy Theater Productions, the label's motto of "Sincerity and Psychedelia" comes to life in a smattering of reworks titled, "The Green Room - Stage 1". 

Side A's first track brings the sleazy synth disco paired with a live recording of a classic Chicago line dance. It's an infectious and fun track that sets the stage for the bounce that describes the first side of the release. That segues into a jazzy latin funk number carved from the song's beloved live version (taken from a really small desk), and its studio version. The final track on side A is a classic rock killer, where the middle groove gets center stage and repetition is the hook.

Moving into side B, the record kicks the tempo up with a newer sample that's a blend of techno, psyche rock and oddly enough, a dash of ska... It sounds like it would never work, and yet... it really does (and it's the personal fave of Thomas Banks, the magikal mastering engineer of the release). The next track's a mid-tempo chugger that brings to mind a tug-o-war between trip hop and psyche rock. Who will win? That's a Tricky question... The 3rd slot of side B keeps it cosmic with a motorik venture into the spacey side of indie rock. Finally, the record closes with a quick, barn-burner of a track that sounds like Dick Dale on crosstops. Grab your backstage pass and hang with the band in The Green Room....
